New offshore racing boat : XB 45

The XB project 45 has been in development for several months on behalf of a client passionate about offshore racing and fast cruising. In the program : short-handed offshore cruising, transatlantic and offshore races in the English Channel, Atlantic and Mediterranean (RORC, SNT, SNST, RMYC…).
This modern monohull 45 feet takes up the latest developments from the Lombard firm in terms of Class hulls 40 : search for the best shape stiffness/drag compromise, very elaborate front shapes (brion reassembled, strong forward thrust) guaranteeing a good passage to the sea and significant comfort.
This generation of hull also allows optimal balance at all speeds., making the boat very pleasant to steer, and requiring little autopilot.
It will be constructed of glass-epoxy infusion and PVC foam with carbon reinforcements., for a movement of 5.8 Tons. The interior layout, also in PVC sandwich, is designed to be efficient in racing, and comfortable when cruising.
It is equipped with a lifting keel with a deep draft and a low keel. (3.70 m maxi) guaranteeing high weight stiffness, and very good upwind performance.
2 lateral ballasts will allow you to adjust the stability and comfort when sailing. Two rudder configurations are offered : lifting type ‘Class40’ and fixed (under vault).
The deck plan is designed to maneuver the boat with a reduced crew with two very eccentric helm stations to facilitate the view forward.
2 cockpit versions are offered, one oriented ‘crew’ with main maneuvering station in front of the wheel, the other ‘reduced crew’ with a maneuvering station grouped around the companionway.
Launch planned in 2025 !
